• Top 500!

We just received notice that John Duke (aka The John Duke Team) has been selected as one of the top 500 agents in Central Texas! Considering where our team started to where it is now, that is a great accomplishment and we are so humbled (and very excited)! Thank you for allowing us to team up with you – our clients – for this recognition. We couldn’t do it without you!

Killeen Living: Texas License to Carry

Yesterday we had the privilege of taking the Texas License to Carry course provided by Texas License 2 Carry. Our class met in a private room at Rosa’s Cafe in Killeen. Led by instructor, Damon Cross, we went through an engaging 4.5 hour class followed by a shooting test at a private range in Killeen. I have to admit, I was very nervous taking this course – not so much for the classroom studies, but more for the shooting test. I have little experience with a pistol, although we do go to a shooting range to practice. They are very different from rifles and are a bit intimidating. The course…

  • Liberty Hill Living: Lonestar Range & Academy

If you live in the Liberty Hill area and like to shoot guns, check out Lonestar Range & Academy. They are located on Highway 183 just north of Liberty Hill (they have a Florence address). Our family had the opportunity to head over there yesterday for a little pistol practice and I wanted to share about our experience. When we arrived at Lonestar Range & Academy, we checked in and signed the appropriate wavers at the front office and paid a minimal fee ($15 per adult and $10 per youth). Before you go, make sure you bring: Ear protection Eye protection Ammo You can now purchase ammo, but it’s always…

    Local Swimming Holes

Looking for a few local swimming holes for you, your family, and friends? We may have escaped May and part of June with very mild temperatures, but as we near the end of this month the temps are starting to creep up higher and higher. But, alas, what is a hot Texan to do? Duh. Go swimming, of course! There are many Austin area swimming holes in and around Austin. Thanks to Independence Title for this great list of local swimming holes. Click on the link below for a full list of local swimming holes!

    Local Restaurants in Liberty Hill

Being that most of our business is in or around Liberty Hill, I wanted to highlight a few of the local restaurants in this humble (yet growing) city. One of our family’s all-time favorites is Dahlia’s. Located at the corner of FM 1869 and Hwy 29, Dahlia’s boasts home cooking at its finest. Enjoy indoor or outdoor seating, fresh tea, and truly scrumptious meals. We’ve had the grilled chicken, chicken fried steak (which is ginormous), the burgers and so much more. The waitstaff (hello Wendy!) is Texas friendly (which means they are EXTREMELY friendly for those new-to-Texas). If you happen to come for dinner on Friday or Saturday evening you’ll…

  • Red Day 2017

    Red Day 2017

One of the things I love about Keller Williams Realty is that they are deeply committed to the communities in which they work. Red Day is the one day out of the year that all of the market centers are closed and each center spends a day working in their own communities. This year the Georgetown Market Center tackled painting, weed clearing, and power washing at the new Boys and Girls Club of Georgetown. Carver Elementary is the new home of the Boys and Girls Club of Georgetown – the ONLY boys and girls club in Williamson County. It was an honor to work alongside other KW agents and their…

  • Hit the Christmas Light Trail

Here are a list of the top 5 places to see Christmas lights in and around Austin. Austin Moms Blog provided a really nice list. Instead of rehashing the details, I’ll simply link to her site. If you live in Liberty Hill, you can visit the Liberty Hill Trail of Lights at Foundation Park. Or, head on out to Burnet, Texas, and enjoy their light show, visit Bethlehem (this is the last weekend), or walk around the lighted courthouse and enjoy the lights. You can read more about these activities here. If you really feel like driving (and you want to avoid the crowds), check out the Walkway of Lights in…

  • Holiday Fun in Williamson County

Lots of holiday fun over the next few weeks. Find a few great options on the image below. You can see my family at the Christmas Stroll (on the square in Georgetown) on December 5th and 6th. Purchase honey, lip balms, hand balms, etc. for yourself or as gifts for your family!

  • Local Farmer’s Markets

Buying local, fresh produce and products is becoming increasingly popular in this area. It’s important to know your farmer, where your food comes from and if any chemicals are used on it. Not only can you meet the farmer (or beekeeper in our case), but you can help promote local businesses rather than a large grocery chain. Here are a list of local markets in Georgetown, Cedar Park and Round Rock: Wolf Ranch Farmer’s Market – Saturday mornings from 9-1 p.m. Cedar Park Farmer’s Market – Saturday mornings at Lakeline Mall Sun City Farmer’s Market – Tuesday mornings from 9-noon Georgetown Farmer’s Market – Thursday afternoons from 3:30-6:30 at the…
