Being that most of our business is in or around Liberty Hill, I wanted to highlight a few of the local restaurants in this humble (yet growing) city.
One of our family’s all-time favorites is Dahlia’s. Located at the corner of FM 1869 and Hwy 29, Dahlia’s boasts home cooking at its finest. Enjoy indoor or outdoor seating, fresh tea, and truly scrumptious meals. We’ve had the grilled chicken, chicken fried steak (which is ginormous), the burgers and so much more. The waitstaff (hello Wendy!) is Texas friendly (which means they are EXTREMELY friendly for those new-to-Texas). If you happen to come for dinner on Friday or Saturday evening you’ll be treated to a local band/duo playing outdoors and if you feel up to it, try a little two-steppin’ with your sweetheart.
Want a little history on the restaurant’s location? Johnny grew up in Liberty Hill and went through school, graduating from Liberty Hill High School in 1987. Back in the day, the family that used to own this home, was a big trapping family. Johnny and his brother used to buy their traps from this family, the Ellis’s. You can even see some of the traps hanging in Dahlia’s as a tribute to the previous owners/family.
Another restaurant that our family really enjoys in Liberty Hill is Major’s Burgers. Located on Hwy 29 across from the Sonic and Sundance Estates, Major’s has amazing burgers, beer-battered french fries, desserts, and lemonade. If it’s too early for lunch, grab some locally roasted hot coffee. Open Monday through Saturday from 7 am to 8:30 pm, you can grab something on the go or stop in and take a break for lunch or dinner. You won’t be disappointed.
Check out either of these local restaurants or any of the other fine establishments in Liberty Hill, for a little local flavor and a little local fun.
